1. Project Background
Foshan Mingde Automation Co., Ltd., a client of the agent Foshan Kaiyou Automation, specializes in manufacturing equipment for aluminum profile production. Their end customers are mainly aluminum profile manufacturers across China. The industry is fragmented, and end customers typically rely on local electrical control suppliers.
Previously, the customer used a complete Delta system, but for business reasons, they switched to our full set of equipment. The program logic is complex with extensive I/O, and as they lack a dedicated programming engineer, maintenance is challenging.
With substantial industry experience, the client seeks to enhance competitiveness and expand market share through technological innovation, and thus requested our assistance in developing a PLC + HMI solution.
2. Solution Overview
The bundling system uses the Samkoon SK-102HE HMI, FGS-64MT-AC PLC, and FGS-E8X8T module to achieve full automation. The PLC controls the positioning servo and film-pulling servo for film alignment. It also controls multiple cylinders, a hot-melt wire, and the heat-sealing unit to wrap and seal aluminum profiles.
3. System Configuration

4. Process Flow
4.1 Material-Length Calculation: The PLC calculates the aluminum profile length using a combination of positioning servos and cylinders.
4.2 Left/Right Extra Length: The system allows setting extra film lengths on both ends, automatically calculating the required overhang after pulling the film.
4.3 Film Pulling & Avoidance: During film pulling, cylinders move out of the way to avoid interference.
4.4 Sequential Operation: After loading, the system executes steps in order: length measurement → film pulling → edge retention → profile discharge → heat sealing → material storage.
4.5 Manual/Automatic Switching: Operators can switch between manual and automatic control of servos and pneumatic components.
